Your comment made me laugh because I was going to use 'poke of chips' the kind you get in a fish and chip shop over here, but I thought it might not translate. A 'bag of chips' over here is from a chip shop, those big soggy chips with salt, vinegar, and brown sauce (not those thin crispy French fries you get from McDonalds).
We'd say 'packet of crisps' for your 'bag of chips'.
Thinly sliced deep-fried numbers in a foil packet.
It's odd, isn't it? How words and saying melt into something else after an ocean crossing and time. I mean, pavement became sidewalk because it's at the side and you walk on it.
There's a comedy routine in there somewhere.
