Hi,
I run E3 - Entertain, Enlighten, Empower. I don't position my stories at the top (like other pubs). Articles are scheduled so everyone gets the chance to sit at the top for a while.
My mantra is to put the reader first.
I don't get paid from Medium, but I am a boost nominator. Last month I earned $135 for that. It worked out about $10 an hour (there is work involved).
I routinely work on the publication for about two hours per day, onboarding new writers, editing and assisting those who wish to publish with us. I do this for free. Nada. My way of giving back for what Medium has given me.
People read some of my blurb about my pub, although this is behind the paywall, this doesn't amount to very much. I'd be lucky to get $10 a month.
I make most money from writing on Medium. If it was all about the money, I'd give up the publication and concentrate on that (and reading and interacting with other writers).
Sometimes I make $200 a month, sometimes an article goes viral and it pays for a new shower.
Don't rely on Medium income.
Kind regards
Malky
