You made me sit up in a panic. I didn't say that, did I? And I had to read my article through again, slowly. Checking.
I guess it was my fault for not making it clear. The examples I gave were for digital sales (it does say Kindle eBooks).
Amazon doesn't let you price your paperback books for lower than they cost to print and post, so you can't lose money.
Something is better than nothing, is my message. So if you price your book too high, you are doing yourself a disservice.
Self-publishing can be difficult to get right and many don't realise the need to publicise. They think the book will sell itself. Whereas they need to sell themselves, first, constantly. - I've written about that before.
