I've only done two of these experimental posts since you joined Medium and I didn't tag you in the first one. In case you came across it by accident, I don't see any claps or comments on it from you either?

I apologise if this tag annoyed you. I only tagged the people who followed me in June, and you were one.

It's been a revealing experiment. I was keen to identify those who were genuinely interested in my writing and those I could help as a publication owner and boost nominator.

There is a tendency for new writers to join the follow for follow crowd, but follower count is a poor metric for success here. I've seen some who follow tens of thousands of people. This little test helps with that.

I love Medium and I want to see it thrive.

Your response was a certainly a surprise, but it is exactly what I wanted. I always have reservations about tagging people and it tells me how some can get the wrong end of the stick's purpose.
