I did an experiment in the summer by tagging every new follower each month for 3 months and asking them 3 questions in my article. It was revealing. (10% response rate).

The result is I studiously ignore mass followers. First, as one of tens thousands of people they follow, I'd be naive to think they have the time of inclination to read anything I write.

Second, most write nothing much that interests me, many are using A.I. (ugh, bleh, meh).

Third, follower counts mean nothing. True fans mean everything.
