I would certainly advise any budding author to avoid vanity publishers. My friend did that that and when I was up helping him with his second book, I sat on a pile of his first book made into an armchair.

We can't set a price on a print to order paperback at less than it costs to print and post - At £7.99 for my books, I make next to nothing. But most of my sales are digital, and it is worth playing around with pricing.

If I were to start again, I'd do a lot different.
