My wife often says, 'It's always me..."
It's her her calls, her who visits, her who sends cards. I tell her that is because she is the glue. Most people are slippery surfaces. We need people who are the glue.
I have a friend who phones or pops in every day. My house is on route to his. If it were the other way around, I'd pop in on him more, but he'd still be the glue.
I can be busy writing, or going somewhere and suddenly he's at the back door, looking for half an hour to chat. "What's been happening?" He'll ask and I invariably, I say "Nothing." It's only been 12 hrs since we last spoke and I slept for 8 of them. But I don't mind.
You're the glue. Be the glue. They will appreciate it, as I appreciate my friend.
Kind regards
Malky
