Not that we should get carried away with follower counts, they don’t mean so much.

There are writers here with tens of thousands of followers who post articles that get as many views and claps as those with a dozen.

One of the intriguing questions that comes up for writers on Medium is ‘What happened to all those people who followed me?’

I’ve studied writers on Medium and concluded Only 8% of Writers Will Still Be Here in Five Years. I haven’t been able to do the same with followers, there’s no data.

I can never tell what will resonate with readers.
